Position OverviewThe CAD Drafter is a key role, responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, plans, and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software or manual drafting techniques. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.
Responsibilities- Prepare project drawings for a variety of Geotechnical and Environmental projects, including, but not limited to, Geotechnical Explorations, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Soil and Groundwater Assessments, and Preliminary Contamination Assessments and/or Monitoring
- Manage prepared drawings for active projects, and filing of prepared drawings for issued projects
- Drafts designs utilizing computer-aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and designs.
- Converses with engineers and other subject matter experts to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, and coordinate work with others.
- Convert rough sketches and specifications into detailed drawings and plans
- Perform calculations, measurements, and estimations to support the drafting process
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in the preparation of drawings
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and provide support during the construction phase.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Aided Design, Architecture, Engineering or relevant field.3+ years' experience as a CAD Drafter or similar role.Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and computer-aided design software, like AutoCADStrong attention to detail and mathematical skills.Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Understanding of architectural and construction design.Excellent technical drawing skills.
Travel Requirements
This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs

- This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
- The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
- The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting office materials up to 15 pounds
