Role Name: Senior Data Modeler – Event-Driven Architecture & Domain Modeling

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler with strong event-driven architecture and domain modeling experience to support Farmers' enterprise data products and real-time architecture.
This is not a traditional relational data modeling role requiring only some exposure to event streaming.
Key Qualification
Hands-on experience modeling event-based architectures and real-time consumption models, with a clear understanding that event, domain, state, and consumer projection models are related but distinct.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Event Modeling
- Business events, event envelopes, and payloads.
- State and snapshot events.
- Event versioning, ordering, correlation, and idempotency.
2. Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Bounded contexts, aggregates, and domain events.
- Ubiquitous language translated into durable data and event contracts.
3. Conceptual & Logical Modeling
- Enterprise and domain models.
- Semantic boundaries and canonical concepts.
- Reconciling heterogeneous data sources.
4. Relational & NoSQL Modeling
- Temporal and historical data design.
- Access-pattern-driven document, key-value, and search models.
- Graph modeling experience preferred.
5. Streaming & Data Products
- Event-streaming platforms and schema registries.
- Avro, JSON Schema, and Protobuf.
- Change Data Capture (CDC) and state reconstruction.
6. Analytical & Lakehouse Modeling
- Dimensional and history-oriented models.
- Iceberg/Delta-style architectures.
- Translating event and state models into analytical forms.
7. API & Projection Modeling
- Consistent domain representations across events, APIs, transactional stores, analytical stores, and search stores.
8. Data Governance
- Semantic ownership and data lineage.
- Data quality and contract versioning.
- Model lifecycle management in a large enterprise environment.
9. Collaboration
- Working with domain SMEs, architects, engineers, and governance teams.
- Developing reusable enterprise data models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance/P&C (Property & Casualty) industry experience.
- Familiarity with ACORD standards.
- Large-enterprise modernization experience.
- Hands-on experience with:
- AWS
- Apache Iceberg
- Aurora PostgreSQL
- OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
