Job Description:Under general direction, the
Web Application Developer drives the evolution of Thunderbird School of Global Management's digital presence. This role oversees Thunderbird's Drupal environment, designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining web applications and sites to ensure they are secure, scalable, and aligned with brand and university standards.
Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, the developer ensures content, tools, and functionality reflect best practices while delivering a seamless, user-focused experience. Through expert application of UX/UI principles to achieve optimal experience for end-users, this position strengthens Thunderbird's web presence and engagement across its global community.
This role fosters strong relationships across Thunderbird/ASU to ensure alignment with web standards and brand guidelines, collaborating closely with the Branding and Communications team to achieve shared objectives.

Salary Range: $66,200 - $70,000; to commensurate with education and experience
Essential Duties:- Develops web forms, templates, database-driven web pages, new web tools and dynamic areas within web pages designed to enhance, sustain and support ideas and vision of the area in compliance with established styles and standards.
- Provides technical consultative suggestions and recommendations to users for continued enhancements to web content and informational areas.
- Works closely with users to understand requirements, security needs; develops and presents initial design ideas and associated tools, tests functionality to ensure objectives are achieved; integrates user developed content.
- Identifies and troubleshoots errors and/or problems with web-based applications; works collaboratively with involved stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution; escalates as appropriate.
- Participate as either leader or team member in a wide variety of projects to develop and improve routine procedures through use of innovative and technology supported solutions; prepare associated documentation and end-user training.
- Remains abreast of technology directions, initiatives and trends within scope of expertise to provide ideas, guidance and recommendations.
- Provides technical support in the production of multimedia-based layouts, graphics, animations, video and sound; designs web interfaces and develops layout design/content; selects illustrative materials for use ensuring consistency, accuracy and compliance with all standards.
- Works closely with other members of the Branding and Communications, Student Recruitment and Executive Education teams to support website environment, while meeting brand and messaging standards.
- Reviews changes within subject areas; drives content, look and functionality changes targeted to improve/enhance web pages.
- Serves as principal contact for external vendors related to Drupal web environment.
- May interface with executive-level staff and other university personnel.
- Translate complex ideas into visually appealing, accessible designs, catering to Thunderbird's diverse, international audience.
- Collaborate with graphic designer to implement enhancements on Thunderbird landing pages and web environment that enhance accessibility, improve user experience, increase engagement, and drive conversions.

Desired Qualifications:- Strong knowledge of Drupal web application and relational database design concepts (associated database requirements), principles, practices and methods; security/permission standards; knowledge of store procedure methods and techniques.
- Experience using tools JavaScript Basic SQL Queries Basic forms/actions
- Understand environment SQL ColdFusion HTML JavaScript DreamWeaver CSS Common Spot.
- Strong knowledge of HTML; Knowledge of UI/UX principles and design for web-based platforms.
- Experience with third-party application integration within Drupal environment.
- Knowledge of Salesforce and integration within an organization's tech stack/web applications; expertise to ensure seamless functionality, API integration, and data management.
- Experience in identifying, developing and deploying solutions to improve effectiveness of technology delivered materials and information.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with project management platforms.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in a higher education, or a globally focused organization, and/or executive environment.
Working Environment:- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Use office equipment including a calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer, fax and copier.
