Data Engineer (Financial Services) with Python - Azure - SQL - to 155k + bonus (SK)

Salary is 130k to 145k + bonus

2 days remote and 3 days onsite

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with expertise in financial services to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing data pipelines, creating visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI, and optimizing data storage and retrieval processes. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, driving informed decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design data solutions tailored to the needs of the financial services industry.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Design and implement data models, including dimensional and star schema designs, to support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Create visually appealing and interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, providing stakeholders with actionable insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes, leveraging Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to manipulate and analyze large datasets efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, Power BI, and Azure cloud services, and recommend best practices for data management and visualization.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on financial services and Python / PySpark.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX expressions, and report/dashboard development.
• Expertise in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries, optimizing database performance, and creating stored procedures and functions.
• Experience with Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Familiarity with financial concepts and terminology, including accounting principles, financial modeling, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
