Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Research Scientist - Cell Biology for an onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves joining a dynamic team focused on molecular and cellular biology research. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in cell-based assays, molecular techniques, and imaging to contribute to key research initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in an industry setting.
Responsibilities: - Maintain mammalian cell cultures
- Generate stable cell lines
- Perform cell-based assays
- Conduct data analysis
Requirements: - Doctorate degree OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience
- Strong background in cell biology
- Experience with mammalian cell culture
- Proficiency with plate-based quantitative assays (HiBiT, NanoBiT, CTG, NanoBRET)
- Experience with molecular biology techniques
- Experience with imaging techniques
Desired skills: - PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, or pharmacology
- Broad knowledge of molecular and cellular biology with demonstrated independent research eminence through publications
- Understanding of cellular protein degradation pathways (ubiquitin-proteasome system, endo-lysosome pathway)
- Research experience in molecular and cellular techniques, western blotting, quantitative cell-based assay development, cell line engineering, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Pay range: up to $42.36 per hour
