Data Network Engineer - Senior or a Full-Time

Job Summary:The Senior Data Network Engineer will support enterprise data networking operations including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IP networks supporting the Department of Labor infrastructure.
The engineer will support enterprise routers, switches, wireless controllers, and network monitoring tools.
Nature of WorkThe network environment includes:
- nationwide IP network infrastructure
- MPLS and telecom circuits
- routers, switches, and wireless controllers
- optical transport networks (DWDM)
- network monitoring platforms
- ServiceNow ticket-driven operations
The role includes both operational support and project-based network modernization activities.
Key Responsibilities- Install and configure IP network equipment
- Troubleshoot complex network connectivity issues
- Support telecom circuit connectivity
- Maintain network infrastructure documentation
- Support network upgrades and modernization
- Work with network monitoring platforms
- Resolve Layer 1-3 network issues
- Support network security and segmentation initiatives
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- 10+ years network engineering experience
- Experience managing enterprise IP networks
- Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies
- CCNA
- CCNP
