Engineering Manager, Developer Enablement to lead a team focused on engineering productivity, platform capabilities, software delivery automation, and development experience improvements.
The organization builds cloud-based technology solutions that help healthcare providers, patients, and operations teams work more efficiently. As the engineering organization continues to expand, leadership is investing in the tools, platforms, and processes that enable developers to deliver high-quality software quickly, reliably, and securely.
This role combines technical leadership with people management. You will oversee engineers responsible for internal platforms, infrastructure automation, development workflows, and engineering tooling while helping shape the future of software delivery across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strong engineering leader with a backend engineering foundation who enjoys building teams, improving developer workflows, and driving large-scale engineering initiatives that have a broad impact across the company.
Location: Watertown, MA (Hybrid) Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience
- Strong hands-on background in backend software engineering
- Experience working within cloud-native development environments
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery practices
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and processes
- Experience leading cross-functional technical projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience improving software development workflows and engineering productivity
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience leading Developer Productivity, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Developer Enablement teams
- Experience building internal developer platforms and self-service engineering tooling
- Experience managing backend and infrastructure-focused engineers
- Experience supporting highly available cloud-based applications
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and engineering performance metrics
- Experience implementing AI-assisted development tools and automation solutions
- Healthcare technology, health platform, digital health, or health services experience
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-focused environments
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team focused on developer enablement and platform capabilities
- Improve software development, testing, deployment, and operational workflows
- Create scalable internal tools and platforms that improve engineering efficiency
- Drive initiatives focused on automation, reliability, observability, and software quality
- Partner with engineering leaders to identify and eliminate development bottlenecks
- Establish standards across CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and infrastructure automation
- Evaluate emerging technologies that improve developer effectiveness and engineering velocity
- Lead major platform initiatives from planning and architecture through production deployment
- Mentor engineers and support technical and professional growth
- Help define the long-term strategy for engineering enablement and platform investment
The Offer
- Base Salary: $170,000 - $225,000
