Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior AI Specialist to support enterprise AI initiatives for a large-scale federal agency in Woodlawn, MD. This role ensures the successful deployment, operation, maintenance, and governance of complex AI/ML technology platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong IT infrastructure experience, hands-on user support, experience managing software licensing, and deep expertise in federal IT compliance and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

< data-path-to-node="11">1. Infrastructure Administration & Software Licensing
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor enterprise servers, high-performance storage, cloud environments, and networking components tailored for AI/ML workloads.

  • Perform system health monitoring, performance tuning, security patching, and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of AI software licenses (procurement, tracking, compliance, renewals, and usage reporting).

  • Proactively plan and recommend infrastructure capacity scaling as enterprise AI adoption expands.

< data-path-to-node="13">2. Technical Support & End-User Enablement
  • Provide dedicated technical support, troubleshooting, and help desk assistance for agency AI tools.

  • Manage user onboarding, identity access provisioning, and account management.

  • Deliver interactive user training, instructional guides, and FAQs to drive platform adoption.

< data-path-to-node="15">3. Governance, SOPs & Technical Documentation
  • Author comprehensive technical artifacts: system architecture diagrams, configuration runbooks, SOPs, and user manuals.

  • Operationalize federal AI governance frameworks ensuring strict compliance with federal policies and operational controls.

  • Train cross-functional teams on operational SOPs and data security governance.

< data-path-to-node="17">4. Metrics, Reporting & Stakeholder Management
  • Monitor and report on AI tool utilization, code metrics, and user activity statistics.

  • Prepare quarterly reports detailing the measurable business/operational value gained through AI adoption.

  • Provide weekly status updates, maintain decision logs, and lead routine stakeholder meetings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 10+ years of progressive IT experience.

  • Infrastructure Administration: Demonstrated hands-on experience administering compute, storage, and cloud infrastructure for specialized or data-intensive platforms.

  • Support Capabilities: Strong troubleshooting background spanning software, hardware, network, and end-user layers.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Proven history of writing technical documentation (SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams) within federal or regulated frameworks.

  • Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust Clearance.

  • Work Location: Must be local and able to work 100% onsite (5 days a week) in Woodlawn/Baltimore, MD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting federal government agencies (specifically the Social Security Administration - SSA).

  • Practical understanding of MLOps, AI/ML operational pipelines, and lifecycle management.

  • Professional certifications: ITIL, CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, or AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform credentials.
