Clinical Pharmacist / Advisor
Contrac to Hire
Rate: 63/hr on W2 (No Benefits) during the contract period
The Sr. Clinical Advisor provides pharmacist-level support to internal teams and customers in the development, maintenance, and administration of clinical pharmacy programs, formulary management activities, utilization management criteria, and related clinicalpharmacy services. This role supports cross-functional groups, including Information Technology, Client Services, Pharmacy Benefits, Operational Support, Product/Development, and Drug Utilization Review, to ensure clinical pharmacy programs and operationalprocesses are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
The position requires strong knowledge of prescription drugs, managed care, Medicare Part D, formulary management, utilization management, and healthcare industry standards. The Sr. Clinical Advisor is responsible for reviewing drug information, evaluatingclinical and regulatory updates, supporting formulary and utilization of management decisions, and assessing the operational impact of changes to products, services, and customers.
Key responsibilities include:
Formulary management and utilization management support
CMS Part D formulary review, validation, and submission support
FDB and drug database review and validation
Drug information review and clinical analysis
Prior authorization, step therapy, and quantity limit support
Cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Services, IT, Operations, and Product teams
Client implementation and platform migration support
Clinical documentation, training, and issue resolution activities
Qualifications include:
PharmD required
Managed care, PBM, health plan, or formulary management experience preferred
Medicare Part D and utilization management knowledge
Experience with FDB or similar drug databases preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
