Electrical Engineer

About This Role

A leading automotive manufacturer is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support Paint and manufacturing engineering projects in Georgetown, KY (100% onsite, local candidates). You will investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule, and budget; create scope of work, bid packages, and specifications; evaluate electrical power systems and code/safety compliance (power distribution, breaker sizing, amp draw, SCCR, panel loading); specify electrical components for industrial equipment; and supervise contractors while coordinating installation across trades and vendors in green-field and brown-field environments.

Responsibilities

• Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule, and budget; create scope of work, bid packages, and project specifications
• Review technical drawings, provide feedback, and negotiate changes
• Evaluate electrical power systems and electrical/safety compliance to local and national codes
• Evaluate power distribution, breaker sizing, amp draw, SCCR, and panel loading
• Specify and confirm electrical components for industrial equipment
• Collaborate with third-party safety-compliance contractors
• Collaborate across groups to design and install equipment and meet project milestones
• Supervise contractors in green-field or brown-field environments and coordinate installation with skilled trades, affiliates, engineers, and equipment manufacturers
• Develop countermeasures for project delays to keep projects on schedule

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, technical trade certification, or equivalent experience
• 3 plus years in a manufacturing environment and 3 plus years of project management
• 2 plus years of industrial power distribution and system design (breaker sizing, amp draw, SCCR, panel loading)
• 2 plus years of technical-drawing experience (review, feedback, change negotiation)
• Bid-spec development and contractor negotiation
• Ability to evaluate electrical and safety compliance to local and national codes
• Microsoft Office proficiency; willingness to travel 15% internationally and work about 10% overtime
• Preferred: BSEE; automotive paint-process experience; AutoCAD; PLC operation and programming (Omron, Allen-Bradley); PLC communication (FLNet, EtherNet); OT/IT networking; NFPA 70E/77; OSHA 10/30; utility-cost analysis
