Mainframe Operator - JCL

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a contract opportunity for a Mainframe Operations Specialist in San Antonio, TX. This role will begin training on a shift from 6:30am to 3pm Monday-Friday, but could potentially work other shifts as needed after training, to include 3-11pm and 11pm-7am. This role is onsite and the ideal candidate will be a Mainframe Operations professional with hands-on experience working with JCL in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and support mainframe batch processing environments
* Read, analyze, and manipulate JCL to resolve job failures
* Handle dataset allocations, space issues, and reruns
* Troubleshoot abends and execution errors related to JCL and batch jobs
* Work closely with operations and application support teams to ensure job completion

REQUIREMENTS:
* Mainframe Operations experience in an enterprise environment
* Strong practical knowledge of JCL (beyond theoretical understanding)
* Proven experience modifying JCL for failures, allocations, and restarts
* Familiarity with batch job execution and operational support processes
* Team player with a sense of accountability

Experience with:
* TSO
* Roscoe
* CICS
* JIRA

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
