Title: Systems Analyst

Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior System Analyst to support its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Smart Meter initiative, one of the largest smart energy deployments in New York involving over 5 million smart meters.
This role will support mission-critical AMI enterprise applications including Head End System (HES), Meter Data Management System (MDMS), and Meter Asset Management System (MAMS).
The candidate will be responsible for system monitoring, performance optimization, infrastructure planning, and application administration in large enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and support AMI enterprise applications such as MDMS and MAMS
• Monitor and maintain systems across Linux and Windows environments
• Diagnose and resolve system and application performance issues
• Configure and maintain monitoring and performance management tools
• Work with application vendors to manage patches, upgrades, and hotfixes
• Support system configuration, testing, and performance reviews
• Maintain application standards and technical documentation
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams
• Monitor batch processes and system health reports
Required Skills
• 5+ years experience in systems engineering, application administration, or infrastructure support
• Strong experience with Linux and/or Windows server environments
• Experience supporting enterprise applications in large corporate environments
• Knowledge of multi-tier architecture, networking, virtualization, and databases
• Experience with Kafka and Cassandra
• Experience with Shell scripting (Bash / PowerShell)
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Experience with system architecture planning and documentation
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting AMI or utility systems
• Knowledge of monitoring and performance management tools
• Experience with VMware or virtualization environments
• Understanding of ITIL processes and SDLC methodologies
