Summary

Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced MS SQL Server Expert with extensive expertise in managing large-scale, mission-critical database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments, implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, optimizing database performance, automating administrative tasks, and ensuring database security, reliability, and compliance. This role requires deep technical expertise across SQL Server platforms and enterprise database operations. Key Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases across production, QA, and development environments. Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions. Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups and Distributed Availability Groups. Implement and support SQL Server Replication technologies, including Transactional, Merge, and Snapshot Replication. Manage Log Shipping and Database Mirroring environments. Perform advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource allocation activities. Design and maintain enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions. Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL Agent Jobs, and custom automation scripts. Monitor database performance, health, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools. Plan, coordinate, and execute SQL Server upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities with minimal downtime. Implement and enforce database security standards, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance, availability, and operational issues. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to support business-critical systems. Develop and maintain database administration documentation, operational procedures, and best practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to database performance, scalability, and reliability. Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments. Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2012 through 2022. Strong expertise in Always On Availability Groups and Distributed Availability Groups. Experience implementing and supporting Transactional, Merge, and Snapshot Replication. Experience with Log Shipping and Database Mirroring technologies. Advanced knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. Experience developing and managing backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions. Strong proficiency with T-SQL, PowerShell, SQL Agent Jobs, and database automation. Experience monitoring and managing enterprise database environments. Strong understanding of database security, RBAC, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements. Experience planning and executing SQL Server migrations, upgrades, and patching activities. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ansible automation. Experience developing solutions using Microsoft PowerApps. Experience creating dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. Experience with monitoring tools such as Foglight, SolarWinds, Redgate, and Azure Monitor. Experience supporting cloud-hosted SQL Server environments. Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments with high-availability requirements. Knowledge of infrastructure automation and database DevOps practices. Experience supporting compliance-driven or regulated environments. Education: Bachelors Degree
