What You Will Do

As an HVAC OpenBlue Service Expert, you will serve as a technical specialist responsible for advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and optimization of building control systems across complex customer environments. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, improving performance, and delivering a high-quality customer experience through data-driven insights and proactive service delivery.

How You Will Do It

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on building automation and controls systems across large or high-complexity customer sites.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and deliver actionable recommendations to improve system efficiency, service delivery, and customer outcomes.
  • Support commissioning, system upgrades, and integration activities as needed.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to both internal teams and external customers, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.
  • Apply deep technical expertise to resolve issues that may be loosely defined and require cross-functional understanding.
  • Continuously improve service methods, tools, and processes as part of day-to-day work.
  • Ensure all work is performed in alignment with safety standards, company policies, and customer expectations.

What We Look For

  • Strong experience with building automation systems, HVAC controls, or related technical fields.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues in live customer environments.
  • Experience analyzing data and using insights to drive performance improvements.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences.
  • Solid understanding of operational practices and technical principles within control systems.

Preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of Johnson Controls systems and OpenBlue platform capabilities.
  • Experience supporting large, complex facilities or enterprise-level customers.
  • Familiarity with system integration, digital tools, and connected building technologies.

Directly influences operational performance and customer satisfaction within assigned accounts. Contributes to improved service delivery, system efficiency, and long-term customer value. Operates with broad technical knowledge and applies advanced practices to solve complex challenges.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $88,100 to $120k (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
