Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS & FinOps)
About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic, collaborative team (consisting of 6 members, including a Product Owner and Scrum Master). In this role, you will develop conceptual, logical, and physical IT engineering designs that support complex infrastructure requirements for strategic technology initiatives. You will serve as a hands-on technical operations expert responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting highly available and scalable cloud-based information technology solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments.

You will bridge the gap between engineering, finance, and product teams, specializing heavily in cloud cost management, FinOps principles, infrastructure-as-code automation, and robust cloud governance.
Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture & Engineering: Design and implement solutions using cloud-based technologies (AWS), ensuring seamless planning, development, migration, and integration of applications from on-premises infrastructure to IaaS and PaaS platforms.
• FinOps & Cost Optimization: Implement FinOps principles (Inform, Optimize, Operate), managing AWS costs via Cost Explorer, Budgets, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instance management. Build and maintain AWS Cost and Usage Report (CUR) pipelines using S3, Glue, and Athena.
• Governance & Automation: Design, govern, and remediate robust AWS tagging strategies. Implement automated tag enforcement via AWS Organizations Tag Policies, Config, and Lambda while leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) to drive cost-saving automation.
• Operational Excellence & Troubleshooting: Resolve complex hardware, environmental software, and subsystem issues. Focus on solving root causes and systemic problem categories using automation tools like Docker, Python, Bash, and Ansible.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure conformance with system standards, security manual guidelines, internal audit requirements, and CI/CD automation pipelines across the SDLC.

Requirements

• Experience: 6+ years of professional IT solution delivery and hands-on engineering experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud services.
• Core AWS & Infrastructure Skills: Extensive experience with AWS cloud technologies, Terraform, AWS Config, AWS Inspector, Guard Duty, and CUR pipelines (S3, Glue, Athena).
• FinOps & Cost Management: Demonstrated hands-on experience with AWS cost management tools, FinOps practices, tagging governance, and automated tag enforcement policies.
• Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting proficiency in Python (including boto3 and AWS CLI), Bash, and Ansible for cost reporting and tagging automation.
• Adaptability & Collaboration: Exceptional ability to partner effectively across Engineering, Finance, and Product teams, maintaining flexibility amid shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
