Senior Tacton CPQ Product Modeler & Application Administrator – Detroit, MI

Important Notes

• 3+ years of recent, hands-on Tacton experience is mandatory.
• Must have experience in Tacton product modeling, CPQ configuration, or administration.
• Must have supported at least one production Tacton CPQ implementation, rollout, or major enhancement.
• Strong configure-to-order (CTO) / engineer-to-order (ETO) experience required.
• Experience with complex manufacturing/configurable products is highly preferred.

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Tacton CPQ Product Modeler & Application Administrator to support the implementation and ongoing administration of Tacton CPQ. The role will focus on product modeling, pricing, commercial rules, workflows, integrations, testing, deployment, production support, and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Tacton models including attributes, options, rules, constraints, dependencies, validations, and guided selling logic.
• Configure base/option pricing, pricing tables, discounts, adjustments, approval thresholds, and effective dates.
• Support pricing variations by plant, market, customer, channel, and region.
• Configure application objects, workflows, roles, permissions, reference data, templates, and administrative settings.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Pricing SMEs to translate requirements into testable configurations.
• Support integrations and data flows across CRM, PLM, ERP, middleware, and order systems.
• Develop and execute unit, functional, integration, regression, and release-validation testing.
• Support UAT, defect triage, root-cause analysis, remediation, cutover, and go-live stabilization.
• Provide production support, application administration, enhancement analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Develop training materials, job aids, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer from implementation partners and enable internal administrators/Champions.

Must-Have Requirements

• 3+ years recent hands-on Tacton experience.
• Experience with at least one production Tacton CPQ implementation, rollout, or significant enhancement.
• Strong Tacton product modeling experience covering:
  • Attributes and options
  • Rules and constraints
  • Dependencies and compatibility logic
  • Reusable components
  • Validations and guided selling
• Strong commercial CPQ configuration experience with pricing, discounts, adjustments, approval rules, and pricing variations.
• Experience with configure-to-order or engineer-to-order products.
• Strong testing, troubleshooting, release, and production stabilization experience.
• Ability to work directly with business SMEs and convert product/commercial knowledge into precise configurations.
• Strong documentation, communication, facilitation, and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Ability to work independently in an Agile environment.

Preferred Requirements

• Tacton Product Modeling certification or equivalent expertise.
• Tacton CPQ Application Configuration, Pricing, or Document Generation training.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM, PTC Windchill PLM, ERP, and middleware integrations.
• Experience with PLM-driven product structures and product-data governance.
• Manufacturing, industrial products, modular construction, or manufactured housing experience.
• Experience transitioning a partner-implemented SaaS platform to internal support.
