Summary: Repairs electric motors, pumps, gear boxes, generators, and related electro/mechanical devices and equipment by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Uses mechanical aptitude for assembling, disassembling, and repair of electro-mechanical apparatus
- Assemble, disassemble, and repair electro-mechanical apparatus
- Diagnose failure modes and recommend repairs/corrections on electro-mechanical apparatus
- No-load and load-test run electro-mechanical apparatus
- Examine and inspect electrical connections, windings, coils, etc.
- Clean parts via sandblasting, solvent cleaning, steam cleaning, hand polishing, with toolings, and/or other methods
- Paint parts and whole assemblies of electro-mechanical apparatus
- Install bearings and precision parts with care
- Perform field service calls when requested to help diagnose, install, remove, modify, and/or align electro-mechanical apparatus
- Balance rotating apparatus
- Inspect and measure mechanical parts for wear
- Follow test sheets, drawings, international standards, and other processes to ensure electro-mechanical tolerances are met or exceeded
- Document all measurements and conditions on computer and handwriting during entire repair process
- Coordinates job duties with supervisors to meet due dates
- Various other duties as assigned
