The position is currently hybrid, requiring three days onsite each week. However, the role may change to fully onsite with little or no advance notice.
Position Overview: The selected consultant will support the design, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing visual interfaces, web services, data-driven applications, and enterprise software solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies.
The consultant will be responsible for code development, unit testing, source-code management, build management, integration testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently design and implement medium- to large-scale software systems and application components using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Develop and maintain web-based and data-driven enterprise applications.
- Design and build visual interfaces, web services, APIs, and reusable application components.
- Work with software engineers and technical leaders to understand subsystem and component specifications.
- Recommend technical and architectural improvements to support efficient application development.
- Design and document object-oriented subsystems and system components.
- Develop, debug, test, and deploy application components.
- Write and execute unit, integration, and component-level tests.
- Participate in integrated testing sessions across test and production environments.
- Develop applications using N-tier architectures, dynamic content, scalable designs, and complex security models.
- Collaborate with government and industry stakeholders regarding APIs, data-interchange formats, messaging strategies, application servers, hardware, and virtual-machine requirements.
- Evaluate the impact of system-level decisions on individual application components.
- Support source-code repositories, build systems, testing systems, and other technical infrastructure.
- Participate in source-code management, build management, integration testing, and production deployment activities.
- Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the organization.
- Work collaboratively with the Web Application Development team to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience independently designing and implementing medium- to large-scale software systems and components using .NET architectures.
- 5+ years of experience developing data-driven applications using SQL as part of the overall application architecture.
- 5+ years of experience building web-based software systems using:
- N-tier architectures
- Dynamic content
- Highly scalable development approaches
- Complex application security models and implementations
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with jQuery.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Communication Foundation—WCF.
- 1+ year of hands-on development experience with Angular and PrimeNG.
- Bachelor''''''''s degree.
