Summary

Maximo MAS Technical Developer

Houston, TX - Onsite

6-12+ Months Contract

Job Overview:

The Senior Maximo Technical Developer will be responsible for developing and supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9.x) solutions and participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. This individual will work closely with technical and functional teams to deliver scalable and sustainable Maximo solutions that align with business requirements and enterprise architecture standards.
A significant portion of this role will focus on the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF). The consultant will design, develop, and support enterprise integrations utilizing Enterprise Services, Publish Channels, Invocation Channels, Object Structures, End Points, and External Systems. The developer will be expected to troubleshoot integration issues, optimize performance, and support both real-time and batch processing integrations between Maximo and other enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience integrating Maximo with enterprise systems such as SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, GIS platforms, SCADA systems, and OSI PI Historian. Experience developing and supporting REST APIs, SOAP web services, JSON, XML, and middleware-based integrations is highly desirable.
This role also requires strong custom development experience within Maximo. The consultant will develop and maintain custom business logic using Java, Jython, JavaScript, and Automation Scripts. Responsibilities include creating custom applications, extending Maximo Business Objects (MBOs), configuring workflows and escalations, implementing business rules, and supporting application enhancements that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
The successful candidate will possess strong experience with Maximo Automation Scripting and will leverage scripting capabilities to support business process automation, workflow enhancements, integration processing, data validation, and operational improvements. Experience supporting complex enterprise workflows and automation initiatives is highly preferred.
In addition, the consultant will support database development and performance optimization activities. Responsibilities include developing advanced SQL queries, supporting data conversion and migration efforts, troubleshooting database-related performance issues, and assisting with application tuning across Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL environments.
Candidates with experience supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite deployments within Red Hat OpenShift environments will be highly regarded. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux administration, Git repositories, and CI/CD deployment processes is considered a strong advantage as many organizations continue modernizing their Maximo environments into cloud-native architectures.
Experience with IBM Maximo Mobile or IBM FSM Mobile is considered a plus. While not required, candidates who have supported mobile deployments, synchronization processes, field technician workflows, and mobile application enhancements will be viewed favourably.
Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of seven years of hands-on IBM Maximo technical development experience and at least three years of experience supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS). Candidates should demonstrate strong expertise with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), Java development, automation scripting, REST and SOAP integrations, SQL development, and enterprise application integration architectures.
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working directly with clients and business stakeholders are essential. Candidates must be capable of independently troubleshooting complex technical issues while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional project teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with IBM Maximo Mobile, IBM FSM Mobile, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-based deployments is highly desirable. Previous experience supporting large-scale utility, energy, LNG, oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation, or public sector organizations will be considered a significant advantage.
