Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic AI Lead to drive enterprise AI transformation across Operations, Wildfire Safety, and Customer Experience.
This role serves as the technical authority for GenAI and ML solutions, defining the vision, governance, and architecture for high-impact programs including RAG-based agents and hazard detection systems.
The ideal candidate combines deep engineering expertise in LLMs with the ability to lead cross-functional programs and communicate with VP-level stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Roadmap: Define the enterprise AI vision, operating model, and prioritization of GenAI opportunities.
* Architecture & Delivery: Drive the design and deployment of AI solutions including consultation agents, regulatory Q&A automation, and hazard detection.
* AI Governance: Establish frameworks for compliance, model risk management, auditability, and Responsible AI (NIST/ISO).
* Program Leadership: Lead cross-functional programs spanning IT, Safety, Regulatory, and Field Operations.
* AI Orchestration: Utilize Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and similar platforms to build scalable AI orchestration layers.
* Mentorship: Guide and mentor data scientists, ML engineers, and architects to promote AI literacy and best practices.
Required Qualifications
* Experience: 12+ years in AI/ML, data engineering, or digital transformation.
* Core Expertise: Deep expertise in Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and AI orchestration.
* Platforms: Strong proficiency in Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar enterprise AI platforms.
* Leadership: Prior experience leading enterprise-wide AI programs and engaging with VP/Senior Director stakeholders.
* Compliance: Experience deploying AI in regulated environments with knowledge of Responsible AI frameworks.
* Domain (Preferred): Utility industry experience (Wildfire, Grid, or Operations).
