Senior Snowflake Delivery Architect

We are looking for an experienced Senior Snowflake Delivery Architect (remote) to design, optimize, and lead modern data platform initiatives across cloud ecosystems. The ideal candidate combines deep Snowflake expertise with strong architectural vision, delivery leadership, and consultative communication skills to drive end-to-end enterprise data modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Snowflake Architecture & Engineering

• Design and implement enterprise-grade Snowflake data platforms, including environment setup, optimization, and governance.
• Architect scalable solutions integrating data ingestion (Fivetran, Kafka), transformation (dbt), and analytics (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Lead data modeling, performance tuning, security design, multi-cluster configuration, data sharing, and governance within Snowflake.
• Implement best practices for Snowflake Intelligence, Iceberg tables, and Data Cloud Deployment Framework (DCDF).
• Support Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) strategies to ensure data resilience and availability.

2. Cloud & Data Stack Leadership

• Provide architectural leadership across AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3), Azure (ADF, Synapse), and/or Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow) ecosystems.
• Design modern data warehousing, real-time data pipelines, and data lakehouse architectures.
• Integrate supporting layers such as data cataloging, data quality management, governance, and privacy controls.
• Optimize cloud resources through FinOps principles, ensuring performance and cost efficiency.

3. Project & Delivery Leadership

• Act as technical lead and delivery owner for multiple concurrent data projects.
• Define project scope, establish timelines, manage risks, and align delivery milestones with business goals.
• Lead cross-functional Agile teams (engineers, analysts, QA, DevOps) to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Translate complex technical designs into actionable execution plans that drive architectural excellence.

4. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage directly with enterprise clients to understand business objectives, shape data strategies, and present architecture solutions.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders to influence decisions and ensure alignment.
• Operate as a trusted advisor, providing consultative insights on optimization, data sharing strategies, and architecture improvements.

5. Methodology & Tools

• Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks, occasionally serving as Scrum Master or Delivery Manager when required.
• Use tools like Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, Terraform, dbt, and CI/CD pipelines for effective design and delivery management.
• Contribute to internal architectural reviews, governance processes, and mentor junior architects and engineers.

Requirements

• 5 10+ years of experience in data architecture, with 2 4+ years of Snowflake-specific design and implementation.
• Proven expertise in data ingestion, data engineering, and pipeline orchestration.
• Experience with Hadoop, Cloudera, and integration of Iceberg tables within modern data architectures.
• Strong understanding of optimization techniques, consultative problem solving, and end-to-end architecture ownership.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• SnowPro Architect or related certification.
• Experience leading architecture governance or mentoring technical teams.
• Background in consulting or enterprise solution delivery within complex data ecosystems.
