Systems Engineer II
Duration: 9 Months
Location: North Reading, MA (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $52-$62/hr
Travel: ~75% Domestic
Job DescriptionThe Systems Engineer II will install, commission, and support advanced robotic systems across U.S. fulfillment centers. This role leads small deployment teams, resolves complex technical issues in real time, and drives continuous improvement across installation and commissioning processes. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional partners, manage project metrics, and deliver high-quality technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, and commission robotic and electro-mechanical systems.
- Lead on-site deployment teams (1-5 engineers).
- Partner with installers, engineering teams, and IT stakeholders to ensure smooth deployments.
- Diagnose issues on the floor and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Update technical documentation and improve installation/commissioning processes.
- Track and manage project KPIs (schedule, cost, quality, safety).
- Collect, analyze, and report operational data to support decision-making.
- Travel up to 75% across the U.S. to customer sites.
Must-Have Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline.
- 3+ years working with mechanical, electrical, IT, or software-based systems.
- 2+ years experience interpreting technical drawings/CAD in field environments.
- 1+ year troubleshooting complex integrated systems.
- 1+ year experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with office and collaboration software.
- Hands-on experience with robotics and electro-mechanical systems.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage schedules, deliverables, and small teams.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications- Basic networking knowledge
- Experience in high-travel roles or field deployment environments.
- Data-driven problem-solving experience.
- Familiarity with LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
