Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SAP Payroll, Tax & Benefits Consultant to support end-to-end U.S. and Canada payroll operations. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in SAP Payroll (PY), SAP Benefits (BN), payroll tax configuration, and SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC). The consultant will troubleshoot payroll and tax issues, support year-end activities, manage vendor integrations, and ensure accurate payroll posting to Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and support SAP Payroll (PY) for U.S. and Canada

• Own end-to-end payroll processing including:

  • Pre-payroll validation, payroll runs, post-payroll activities

  • Off-cycle payrolls, garnishments, third-party remittance

  • Payroll posting, tax interfaces, and retro calculations

• Configure and maintain tax models, wage types, schemas, PCRs, rules, and paycheck forms

• Support year-end processing including W-2, W-2c, T-4 and tax reconciliation

• Integrate and support third-party tax vendors (e.g., ADP, BSI)

• Configure and support SAP Benefits (BN) including plans, eligibility, enrollment, deductions, and retroactivity

• Support benefits vendor integrations (interfaces, files, IDocs, APIs)

• Debug schemas, PCRs, wage types, infotypes, and posting rules

• Support payroll posting to SAP FI and reconciliation activities

• Execute unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, and parallel payroll runs

• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local tax regulations and support audits

Required Skills (Must Have)

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP Payroll, Tax & Benefits experience (ECC and/or S/4HANA)

• Strong experience with:

  • Schemas & PCRs

  • Wage type configuration

  • Tax models and tax reporting

  • Benefits configuration and payroll integration

• Proven experience supporting live payroll operations (production support)

• Strong U.S. payroll and taxation experience (Canada payroll is a plus)

• Experience with:

  • SAP HCM / SAP Payroll (PY)

  • SAP Benefits (BN)

  • Payroll posting to FI

  • Third-party vendors like ADP / BSI

• Strong debugging skills using payroll logs/tools

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• SAP Payroll on HANA / SAP S/4HANA Payroll

• SuccessFactors EC integrations knowledge (SF connectors)

• SAP CPI understanding

• Exposure to UKG Time Management and payroll impact

• Experience in large/complex or union payroll environments

• Certifications: CPP / FPC / SAP Certification

• Multi-state or multi-country payroll exposure
