Job Description :-

Must Have:

Migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS

Job Summary :-

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Automation Engineer to support and drive automation initiatives across the z/OS platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in mainframe operations, system automation, and migration projects involving IBM automation products. This role will focus on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance system availability.

Key Responsibilities :-

• Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions within the z/OS environment.
• Support operational, consulting, and service activities related to mainframe automation.
• Configure and administer automation products including:
• CA OPS/MVS
• IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS (SA z/OS)
• IBM System Automation for Integrated Operations Management (SA IOM)
• Analyze existing automation processes and develop enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in automation migration projects from CA OPS/MVS to IBM System Automation solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation policies, rules, procedures, and documentation.
• Work closely with infrastructure, operations, and application teams to resolve incidents and automate manual processes.
• Implement automation policies using Policy Database (PDB) and System Automation tools.
• Ensure high availability and operational stability of z/OS systems.
• Support system startup, shutdown, and recovery automation.

Required Technical Skills :-

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Mainframe Operations, Automation, System Programming, or a related support function.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of:
• TSO and ISPF
• JCL
• REXX programming
• System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
• Experience with z/OS automation migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Netview for z/OS , IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS
• Automation Policy Management

Preferred Skills :-

• Knowledge of z/OS system startup and shutdown processes.
• Understanding of SMP/E and z/OS maintenance activities.
• Experience with fully automated IBM Z environments.
• Familiarity with IBM automation product suites and their replacement for legacy CA automation tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring, event management, and operational automation best practices..
• Experience in enterprise-scale mainframe environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex automation and operational issues.

Nice to Have :-

• Experience migrating:
• CA OPS/MVS → IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS
• CA Automation Point → IBM System Automation for Integrated Operations Management (SA IOM)
• Exposure to enterprise observability and automation transformation programs.
