Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst VI with strong expertise in legacy system analysis, business rule extraction, and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will analyze and reverse-engineer VB6/VB.NET and C++ applications, document complex business logic, and support migration and modernization efforts within enterprise data environments.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or related field
Master s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst/Modeler in Data Warehouse, Data Lake, ODS, or similar environments
Strong experience with Visual Basic (VB6/VB.NET) and C++
Experience analyzing and reverse-engineering legacy applications
Expertise in extracting and documenting business rules
Strong SQL and data-driven systems knowledge
Experience with modernization and migration of legacy systems
Strong business and systems analysis background
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Prior experience with education data preferred
VB and C++ certifications preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

Analyze legacy VB6/VB.NET and C++ applications to extract business rules
Reverse-engineer workflows, calculations, transformations, and application logic
Translate technical logic into business-readable documentation
Maintain standardized business rule inventories
Validate extracted rules with stakeholders
Identify inconsistencies and gaps in business logic
Act as liaison between business and technical teams
Support modernization initiatives by separating business logic from legacy systems
