Job Title: Production Technician, Computer Assembly

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm, 32-40 hours a week
System One has an immediate need for a Computer Assembly Production Technician, in Christiansburg, VA. This is a 2-month contract opportunity, with the potential for a direct hire conversion, work permitting.Position Overview:
The Computer Assembly Production Technician is responsible for building, testing, and configuring computers, racks, and other related equipment. This role focuses on product builds at levels 1 and 2, adhering to established industry practices and procedures. The technician works under direct supervision, following instructions and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks effectively and safely.
Key Responsibilities: - Under immediate supervision, provide support to the company’s customers.
- Direct contact with customer emails and phone calls.
- Documents service and support cases with a high degree of detail.
- Prioritizes incoming service and support requests.
- Gathers and analyzes information, troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, procures components and parts.
- Identifies solutions for customers.
- Creates and processes RMAs.
- Documents necessary service actions.
- Determines warranty / non-warranty coverage.
- Coordinates preplacement, repair and return shipments.
- Generates quotes for out-of-warranty replacements.
- Build, test, and configure computers using advanced automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose minor hardware and software issues.
- Test parts and subassemblies to ensure functionality and quality.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by adhering to all applicable safety and health rules.
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of related experience.
- CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
Skills & Knowledge: - Basic knowledge of PC hardware and software.
- Ability to troubleshoot PC and peripheral products at system level.
- High attention to detail.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Be competent to perform tasks that may impact on health and safety in the workplace.
- Basic communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Physical Requirements: - The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel and crouch.
- Operate computer on a continual basis and communicate with various levels of the organization.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
