Overview:

SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Power Platform Business Analyst to join our team on site in Fort Belvoir, VA, in support of our government customers. The Power Platform Business Analyst serves as the functional lead responsible for analyzing business processes, defining requirements, and ensuring that Microsoft Power Platform solutions align with Army and DoD mission needs. Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, the Business Analyst translates operational challenges into actionable technical specifications, user stories, and process models. This role ensures that proposed solutions optimize efficiencies, comply with Government and configuration management standards, and support strategic program objectives. The Business Analyst provides expert-level requirements analysis, facilitates User Acceptance Testing (UAT), supports project planning and scheduling, and contributes to modernization and automation initiatives across multiple Government programs.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders, end users, and the development team.
  • Gather, document, and validate detailed business requirements for new or enhanced solutions.
  • Define project scope and business process flows to support modernization and automation initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, wireframes, and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to elicit requirements.
  • Analyze existing GOTS-supported business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the creation of Power Platform solution concepts, including Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate workflows.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, coordination, and validation.
  • Develop business process models, workflow diagrams, and data requirement definitions.
  • Monitor requirement fulfillment and communicate progress to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare requirement traceability matrices to ensure all contract obligations are satisfied.
  • Provide recommendations and evaluations for business or technical problems impacting system performance.
  • Assist in project scheduling by estimating work effort associated with requirements scope and complexity.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure functional requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
  • Review CCB-approved changes to determine impacts and required requirement updates.
  • Ensure solutions align with strategic objectives, operational policies, and Army Records Management needs.
  • Support multiple IT projects during the requirements and design phases.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Validate user interface designs and business logic for compliance with requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with Government stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • An active in scope of Secret security clearance.
  • Must possess baseline and computing environment certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP).
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degrees in engineering, scientific, technical, or business management disciplines.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in business systems analysis and requirements management.
  • Experience supporting Army or similar DoD programs or enterprise systems.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements, elicitation methods and documentation best practices.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Familiarity with Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) business processes and modernization needs.
  • Experience supporting Power Platform solution design (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Understanding of Configuration Management and Change Control Board (CCB) processes.
  • Ability to estimate effort and support project scheduling based on requirements scope.
  • Experience facilitating UAT and validating functional and performance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating business processes and identifying automation opportunities.
  • Experience preparing workflow diagrams, process models, and data requirement documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate requirements gathering across multiple stakeholders and user groups.
  • Experience with requirements management frameworks within IT project environments.
  • Strong communication skills to provide functional guidance, clarification, and stakeholder engagement.

Work Environment
  • Normal office conditions.
  • Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 - 1700.
  • On government site within Ft. Belvoir, VA.
