About the team:The Health & Wellness
Clinical Services team is dedicated to safeguarding patient health by ensuring compliance, patient safety, and effective counseling workflows across Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies. As a critical pillar of the pharmacy ecosystem, the team empowers pharmacists with the tools, insights, and processes needed to deliver safe, high-quality clinical care. By focusing on regulatory adherence, clinical decision support, and optimized pharmacist workflows, the team plays a vital role in protecting patients and improving health outcomes. Through close collaboration with pharmacists, clinicians, and technology partners, the Clinical Services team continuously drives innovation that strengthens pharmacy operations and supports millions of patients and associates across the Health & Wellness Pharmacy organization.
What you'll do: - Design and implement core features for the Walmart Pharmacy Ecosystem.
- Build UI and desktop components using WPF (MVVM), along with reusable components, libraries, and services using .NET/C#, Entity Framework, and WCF.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, and modern dependency injection patterns.
- Implement maintainable and testable code using TDD/BDD principles, SOLID design, and clean architecture patterns.
- Leverage async/await, Task-based programming, and modern C# features to build high-performing, reliable applications.
- Influence and collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, design leads, and business partners to drive a unified engineering approach.
- Understand complex architecture and deliver enhancements to existing solutions with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide actionable feedback to ensure engineering excellence and best practices.
- Improve engineering productivity through CI/CD pipelines, automation, and tooling.
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
What you'll bring: - 4+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
- Strong experience with .NET/C#, including modern language features, and experience building production-grade applications.
- Experience with WPF and common design patterns such as MVVM, including building reusable UI components.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, and service-to-service integration patterns.
- Experience with persistence technologies including SQL and NoSQL databases, and ORMs such as Entity Framework / EF Core.
- Working knowledge of containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience building reliable data communication between backend systems using Kafka.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with telemetry/observability including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenObserve, and ELK (structured logging, tracing, metrics).
- Strong testing mindset and hands-on experience with TDD, including:
- Unit testing with MSTest, NUnit, and/or xUnit
- Mocking frameworks like Moq or NSubstitute
- Integration testing patterns (e.g., test containers, in-memory hosting, contract testing where applicable)
- Performance testing using tools such as JMeter
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and quality gates (static analysis, code coverage).
- Strong understanding of business strategy and goals, with the ability to solve complex problems with high impact.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
