Job Details
We re seeking a skilled Substation Engineer to join our team at a leading West Coast utility company. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in substation engineering, knowledge of industry standards and experience working in utility environments. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects and help drive energy reliability and innovation across the region.
Responsibilities:
- Examine images of steel and wood poles, as well as steel lattice towers.
- Identify damage as specified in Client standards and correctly prioritize the damage.
- Previous experience in electrical utilities allows engineers to accurately identify and prioritize damage while minimizing training time.
- This experience will also allow engineers to identify damage or potentially hazardous situations not explicitly listed in Clients documents.
- Engineers work in teams with diverse backgrounds.
- Expected to interact well with other team members, and to adjust their work when suggested.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in some combination of the following:
- Sub-station Engineer
- System Engineer
- Transmission electrical engineer
- Transmission civil engineer
- Field engineer
- Standards engineer
- Project engineer
- Comfortable with computers and the following software (Windows Explorer, Office 365, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
- Able to learn and adapt to changing standards
- Willingness to accept correction/guidance
- Experience in SAP, Sherlock/iHawk, EDGIS, etc. is highly preferred. Location: Remote Work in California highly preferred with PST required hours.
Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
