Job Title: Business Analyst with AS400 exp

Duration: 6 Months contract to hire

Location: Onsite in NYC, NY

Job Description:

• Conduct thorough reviews, analyses, and evaluations of business systems and user requirements. Document the necessary requirements, define the scope and objectives, and formulate overarching business goals. Collaborate closely with a team of programmers to achieve these objectives. Additionally, work with Salesforce, Web, and AS400 developers. Ensure the quality assurance testing of the final product.
• Requires 2-4 years of experience in business analysis and software quality control. Familiar with relational database concepts and client-server concepts. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• Salesforce, SQL, and Advanced Excel experience strongly preferred
• Showcase Query Tool, Web QA, and/or AS400 experience is a plus
• Detail-oriented, analytical, inquisitive, and professional
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Extremely organized with strong time-management skills

Responsibilities:

• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats
• Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
• Improve systems by studying current practices, designing modifications
• Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures
• Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements
• Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions
• Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
• Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Validate resource requirements and develop time estimate models
• Suggest changes to senior management, supported by analytics, to strengthen your recommendations; actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
• Create informative, actionable, and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
• Conduct insightful, ad hoc analysis to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
• Perform Quality Assurance testing on finished and in-development applications
