Python Software Engineer – Trading Systems
Location: New York City, NY or Miami, FL
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite – 5 Days/Week

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Python Software Engineer to support a high-performance real-time trade capture and processing platform within a financial services environment.

The engineer will work on systems that process, normalize, and enrich trade executions across multiple asset classes and distribute execution data to downstream real-time P&L and risk systems.

The ideal candidate has strong Python development experience combined with Kafka, real-time streaming, production systems, and complex integrations.

Experience with WSO, Allvue, or credit products is highly desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Python services supporting real-time trade processing.
• Design, develop, and support Kafka-based streaming applications and data pipelines.
• Build and maintain integrations between trading platforms and internal systems.
• Process and enrich real-time execution data for downstream risk and P&L applications.
• Troubleshoot complex production and integration issues.
• Analyze existing applications, data flows, and system dependencies.
• Apply object-oriented design, design patterns, multithreading, and concurrency concepts.
• Develop unit and integration tests.
• Participate in CI/CD and DevOps processes.
• Collaborate with global engineering and business teams.
• Take ownership of technical deliverables and production support activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Python development.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on Kafka experience.
• Experience with real-time, event-driven, or streaming systems.
• Experience supporting production applications and complex integrations.
• Knowledge of multithreading, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in NYC or Miami.

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial services, capital markets, or trading technology experience.
• Experience with trade capture, market data, P&L, or risk systems.
• Experience with WSO (Wall Street Office).
• Experience with Allvue or WSO/Allvue integrations.
• Credit products experience, including leveraged loans, CLOs, or syndicated loans.
• Java or another programming language.
• MongoDB or another NoSQL database.
• Experience with modern developer productivity tools.
