Job Details

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical and plumbing systems across a wide range of building types within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. In this role, you will contribute to system design, analysis, documentation, and coordination efforts from concept through construction. You will work closely with senior engineers and collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality, code-compliant project delivery.

Project experience spans healthcare, education (K-12 and higher ed), federal and military, justice, commercial, industrial, residential, hospitality, data centers, and other institutional markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design of HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and related mechanical systems
  • Develop layouts, calculations, and construction documents across all project phases
  • Perform system sizing, engineering analysis, and technical problem-solving
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and external project stakeholders
  • Assist with construction documentation, specifications, and technical reporting
  • Support field coordination to ensure design intent is met during construction
  • Provide guidance to junior staff as appropriate

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 6+ years of mechanical/plumbing building systems design experience
  • PE license preferred
  • Experience with HVAC, hydronic, controls, and plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, venting)
  • Exposure to medical gas and fire protection systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Experience with load calculation tools (e.g., Trane TRACE or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards
  • Experience with specification writing (AIA MasterSpec or SpecsIntact preferred)
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
