Job Title: Platform Architect (Azure Databricks)

Location: Onsite San Francisco

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Platform Architect Data & Analytics with 10+ years of experience, specializing in Azure and Databricks. The ideal candidate will lead architectural strategy, drive complex ETL/ELT data migrations, and oversee the SDLC for modern data platforms. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and cybersecurity teams to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities Architecture & Business Engagement

Lead high-level architectural discussions and design solutions using Azure Databricks.
Define, implement, and govern the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for data platforms.
Provide strategic direction for ETL/ELT data migration to modern cloud architectures.
Work closely with business units to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
Handle structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data ecosystems.
Design and implement integrations between Azure services and Databricks.

Platform Operations

Manage secure data access and fulfill operational data platform requests.
Optimize and manage Databricks clusters and compute resources.
Implement and manage Unity Catalog for governance and access control.
Ensure Disaster Recovery (DR) and data resilience strategies.
Develop automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and scaling.
Support web applications hosting and scaling within Azure environments.

Required Skills

Strong expertise in Azure Databricks
Hands-on experience with Azure Services (ADF, ADLS, Synapse, etc.)
Deep understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks
Experience with data architecture & cloud migration
Knowledge of data governance, security, and access controls
Experience in automation, monitoring, and performance tuning
