Working directly at Aberdeen Proving Ground provides unique access to secure systems, rapid decision cycles, and close collaboration with customer stakeholders

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and implementation of AWS-based solutions aligned with customer and project needs.
  • You will have significant ownership over DevSecOps strategy, tooling, automation, and cloud deployment approaches
  • Provide hands-on technical contributions while also mentoring and guiding solution development.
  • Collaborate with customer and internal teams to validate release readiness, ensuring regression, performance, and security testing gates are met.
  • Create and maintain release documentation, including schedules, rollback plans, and release notes.
  • Identify and implement improvements that enhance release efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build, pipeline, and deployment issues efficiently.
  • Monitor release metrics to ensure compliance with SLAs and organizational standards.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Pulumi or Terraform to deploy solutions to cloud environments.
  • Work closely with the customer and internal teams to understand existing solutions, champion updates, and guide architectural evolution.
  • Research, propose, and validate solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Clearly communicate status, challenges, and recommendations, owning all DevSecOps deliverables for the project

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within AWS environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, build engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, including branching strategies and tagging workflows.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualities of Exceptional Candidates:
  • Experience integrating automated security scans and documentation into CI/CD pipelines or IT workflows.
  • Experience with SageMaker.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Experience working within DoD or government environments.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and automated compliance scanning.
  • MLOps experience

Salary Range

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.

Salary Description

$105,000 - $160,000
