Senior Network Engineer (Cisco / SD-WAN / BGP / Enterprise Infrastructure)
We re seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining and evolving a large, enterprise networking environment. This position is 100% remote and best suited for a networking professional with strong hands-on technical depth, solid communication skills, and a practical, service-focused approach to supporting critical infrastructure.
The environment includes Cisco, Aruba, and Arista networking platforms supporting enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and security technologies.
In this role, you ll collaborate with both internal technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain secure, highly available network infrastructure. The position includes day-to-day operational support as well as participation in architectural improvements, complex troubleshooting, and ongoing reliability initiatives.
Responsibilities
Maintain and support enterprise network infrastructure with an emphasis on uptime, stability, and performance
Develop effective working relationships with internal teams and key stakeholders
Work with Cisco routing platforms
Support switching environments utilizing Cisco, Aruba, and Arista hardware
Manage enterprise wireless environments using Cisco and Aruba controllers
Support enterprise firewall platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet
Work with application delivery and load-balancing technologies
Support network access control systems including ISE and ClearPass
Implement and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols including SD-WAN, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and VRF configurations
Design and support switching technologies including VLAN trunking, EtherChannel, Spanning Tree, DHCP Snooping, and VXLAN
Respond to and resolve network incidents involving firewall rules, VPN connectivity, and other infrastructure issues under time-sensitive conditions
Continuously monitor network and security systems to detect potential performance issues or vulnerabilities
Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures
Analyze network performance trends and recommend proactive improvements
Track and resolve operational tasks and incidents through the organization s ticketing system
Work closely with other engineers to improve processes, tools, and service quality
Stay informed on new networking and security technologies through research and professional development
Support network security architecture initiatives and system integrations
Perform other related responsibilities as needed
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline or comparable real-world experience
Professional networking certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent practical expertise
At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments
Extensive experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPN technologies, wireless access points, controllers, and monitoring tools
Experience implementing or supporting enterprise campus wireless networks
Ability to produce clear technical documentation and network diagrams
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
