CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Engineer III opening for our client.

Location: Remote

Duration: 7 months

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an advanced technical engineer supporting firewall, networking, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot technical solutions in partnership with engineering, technology, and support teams.
  • Build and maintain Check Point firewall rules and support general firewall/networking environments.
  • Trace data flows and analyze packet captures to troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical, architectural, and support documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Gather and translate business and technical requirements into effective infrastructure solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review technical documentation, proposals, and changes.
  • Apply industry best practices and organizational security, risk, and regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with relevant infrastructure, networking, and vendor technologies.

Scope of Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced technical engineering and troubleshooting expertise for firewall and networking environments.
  • Support infrastructure design, architecture, implementation, and ongoing technology improvements.
  • Work independently on complex technical issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure technical solutions align with organizational requirements, security standards, and industry best practices.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
  • No direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced technical staff and review their technical work and documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to engineering and support teams.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Check Point firewall rule-building experience.
  • General firewall and networking experience.
  • Experience tracing data flows and analyzing packet captures for troubleshooting.
  • Combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and/or professional experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture.

Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in technical engineering involving infrastructure design, data management and interchange, systems design, and/or complex application development.
  • Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry and/or vendor technologies.
  • Experience translating complex business and functional requirements into high-quality technical implementations.
  • Strong ability to gather, document, and analyze system specifications and requirements.
  • Strong understanding of how supported technologies interact with other systems and services.
  • Strong knowledge of server/client and virtual technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Process-oriented and logical thinker with the ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 - $77.74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
