The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a qualified and trained Software Engineer, Jr. for a role in an engineering support services program for U.S. Army customers at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. The Software Engineer, Jr. is responsible for performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products to bring about the successful completion of the CYBERTRON program goals and objectives.
The CYBERTRON program delivers highly skilled engineering services to the U.S. Army C5ISR Center in their mission of cybersecurity research and development and cryptographic modernization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and develops technical solutions related to software and setup errors for field engineers, technicians, and customers.
- Creates workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks working under general supervision; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering/technical discipline or 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Appropriate DoD 8750 certification (Security+ or higher).
- Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Must be able to communicate with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligible for TS / SCI
- Experience supporting Army programs

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
