Summary
Position: Project Manager
Hours: 20 hours a week
Duration: 12 weeks, with expected extension into Phase 2
Location:Remote, United States. Working hours overlap with U.S. Eastern time.
----------------------------------------------------------
The role
We need a project manager who leads, not one who takes notes. This person owns the plan for a fixed-price, 12week engagement and keeps everyone on it honest, Proviniti and client alike. When someone says they will have something by Thursday, the PM writes it down, and on Friday morning asks where it is.
The PM also needs enough judgment to run the project without being told what to track. If a deliverable is drifting, an interview has not been booked, or a dependency is about to slip, the PM should see it first and raise it with a fix in hand.
What you will do
Build the 12-week plan. Tie each deliverable to an owner, a due date, and the client interviews and data access it depends on.
Schedule and run the interview program with client leads across eight functions: data platform, product, the merchant hierarchy, Salesforce, engineering, onboarding, finance, and billing and accounting. Rebook missed sessions within days.
Escalate to the clients executive sponsor when a named client expert misses two scheduled sessions in a row, as the contract requires.
Track every commitment made in meetings, by either side, and follow up until it closes.
Run the twice-weekly client working call, the weekly status report and the bi-weekly executive review.
Own the RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), the decision log and the project SharePoint workspace.
Chase data and system access early. Late access to Salesforce, NetSuite, the warehouse and AWS is the biggest schedule risk in Phase 1.
Run deliverable review and acceptance. The client has three to five business days to review each item, and the PM keeps that clock visible.
Catch scope creep and route it through change control. This is fixed-price work.
Prepare the Phase 1 executive readout and gather the inputs for the Phase 2 statement of work.
What the client sees from you
What you bring
Required:
8 or more years of project management, with at least 3 years on data, analytics, CRM or ERP programs.
Experience delivering for a client as a consultant, including fixed-price engagements.
At least one discovery or assessment phase that ended in a roadmap or recommendation the client acted on.
Comfort with data concepts such as system of record, data lineage, KPI definitions and source-to-target mapping. You do not build these, but you need to judge whether a deliverable is finished.
Clear, short written updates for executives. Calm, direct follow-up with senior stakeholders.
Working command of Microsoft 365 and a planning tool such as Smartsheet, MS Project or Jira.
Preferred:
PMP, PgMP or an equivalent certification.
Payments, merchant services, fintech or healthcare billing.
Programs involving Salesforce, NetSuite, master data management or data governance.
What good looks like at week 12
Every Phase 1 deliverable reviewed and accepted by the client on schedule.
No commitment, from either side, lost between meetings.
The executive sponsor never surprised by a risk or a slip.
Phase 2 scope ready for the next statement of work.
Hours: 20 hours a week
Duration: 12 weeks, with expected extension into Phase 2
