Summary
Job: Mainframe Application Architect
Location: Raleigh, NC ( Hybrid)
The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist in maintaining the Tax and Financial Accounting and Reporting System (FARS) systems and work on the Interfaces related to North Carolina Unemployment Insurance Tax System (NCSUITS) and Southern Consortium Unemployment Benefits Integration (SCUBI). We need to have an additional resource to be able to provide adequate support for the FARS and Interface systems. The Mainframe Architect is expected to handle design, implementation, and maintenance of mainframe computer systems for DES. The primary responsibilities of this position is to assist in maintaining the FARS systems and work on the FARS Modernization project including data cleansing and conversion.
Required Skills:
- Technical knowledge and experience with COBOL
- Technical knowledge and experience with CICS
- Technical knowledge and experience with VSAM files and relational databases
- Technical knowledge and experience with JCL
- Knowledge and experience in transferring data sets from mainframe applications to Oracle / SQL based programs
- Successful completion of technology projects within area of responsibility, analyzing feasibility, compatability and cost of solutions
- Ability to perform mainframe logic and decommissioning
Desired:
- Ability to engage business and technical experts in the cleansing and conversion of legacy data to Oracle
- Ability to engage business experts in the purpose and use of data in the Benefit Payment Application
