Job#: 3020330 Job Description: We are seeking a skilled
Electrical Engineer with strong experience in power system design to support DC system wiring, physical design, equipment specification, inspections, acceptance testing, and checkout activities. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and plant teams.
Minimum Qualifications- 3-6 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Accredited bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of electrical power system design
- Ability to prepare and review:
- Scope documents
- Schedules and budgets
- Single-line diagrams
- Elementary and wiring diagrams
- Layout and circuitry designs
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, QA requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams
Preferred Skills & Experience- Experience with power plant electrical system design, especially fossil-fired generating facilities
- Background providing technical direction to engineers, designers, and drafters
- Experience coordinating project schedules and budgets
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and CAD Overlay (7+ years preferred)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on large-scale design projects
- Strong organizational skills and initiative
- Ability to build effective working relationships with plant personnel, engineering teams, and vendors
Role Responsibilities- Assist in preparing and overseeing electrical power system designs
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical direction and support to engineering and drafting teams
- Support system checkout and startup activities as needed
- Prepare detailed design documents, drawings, and calculations
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure project alignment
- Support DC system design efforts, including:
- Battery systems
- Chargers
- Inverters
- UPS systems
- DC fuse panels
- Conduct inspections, acceptance testing, and provide checkout support
