Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer to join an Agile engineering team supporting a mission-critical web platform. This role focuses on stabilizing and enhancing existing backend systems while driving modernization using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a strong sense of ownership, comfortable working in regulated environments and evolving legacy systems into modern, cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot

• Build and evolve microservices and RESTful APIs

• Modernize legacy backend components while ensuring system stability

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries

• Integrate backend services with AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, etc.)

• Apply event-driven and cloud-native design patterns for scalability and resilience

• Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews

• Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve observability

• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot

• Solid understanding of backend architecture, microservices, and design patterns

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL

• Experience working with legacy systems and incremental modernization

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments

• Strong problem-solving skills with an ownership mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Services or Wealth Management

• Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven environments
