Job Summary:
The Production Team Leader provides operational leadership for first-shift machining operations in a union manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating daily production, supporting production planning, managing inventory flow, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The supervisor provides technical guidance and daily direction to hourly employees without full people-management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and execute daily machining production activities aligned with production schedules
* Provide work direction and technical support to 8-10 union hourly employees
* Support production planning, material flow, and inventory control using SAP
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
* Monitor production performance, identify constraints, and escalate issues as needed
* Partner with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production challenges and maintain schedules
Required Qualifications:
* 10 or more years of experience leading or supervising machining operations in a production environment
* Strong understanding of production planning, inventory control, and shop floor operations
* Experience working in a union manufacturing environment
* Ability to provide technical direction without formal disciplinary authority
* Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems in a manufacturing setting
* Due to the nature of the work ship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Associate or Bachelor"s degree
* Experience in aerospace or similar regulated manufacturing environments
* Familiarity with AS9100 or other quality standards
* Flexibility to support first-shift operations with occasional off-shift needs
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and standard work
