Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mainframe Developer to lead multiple engineering teams while remaining hands-on with enterprise mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will drive mainframe modernization initiatives, DevOps adoption, architecture governance, and end-to-end delivery of mission-critical applications.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Mainframe technologies (z/OS, COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, Easytrieve+)
• Hands-on experience with z/OS Connect (ZConnect) and ZDIH
• Expertise in GitLab CI/CD, DevOps, branching strategies, and release management
• Experience integrating mainframe applications with distributed systems
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and SDLC governance
• Proven experience leading multiple technical teams while remaining hands-on
• Experience with solution architecture, application modernization, and API-first integration
• Strong stakeholder management and mentoring skills

Preferred Skills

• Azure or OpenShift
• Event-driven architecture
• Enterprise schedulers (CA7, Automic)
• Observability and SRE practices
