Job Title: Process Development Engineer (Material Science & Formulation)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Process Development Engineer to join our R&D and Process Engineering team. In this role, you will be the technical bridge between laboratory-scale research and pilot-plant implementation. You will be responsible for designing and executing experimental protocols to characterize innovative material delivery systems and advance our process development capabilities.
This is a hands-on position for a curious and analytical engineer who is committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and documentation. If you enjoy working at the "bench" to solve complex formulation challenges and want to see your work transition into pilot-scale production, this is an excellent opportunity to build your career in a high-innovation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Experimental Execution & Characterization
Lab-Scale Development: Conduct experimental trials on novel material delivery systems. Design and execute bench-scale studies to characterize performance, stability, and physical properties.
Process Scaling: Support the transition from bench-top to pilot-scale experimentation. Assist in process development efforts to ensure that lab-scale innovations can be reliably reproduced at scale.
Prototype Preparation: Manage the creation of material prototypes for analytical testing, stability monitoring, and performance evaluation.
Technical Documentation & Collaboration
Data Integrity: Accurately document all experimental procedures, observations, and analytical results. Maintain rigorous records to support project audits and R&D reporting.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with product development, analytical, and quality teams to ensure all experimental work aligns with project goals.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and quality standards (e.g., GLP/GMP). Contribute to a culture of safety-first engineering.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience Baseline: Open to early-career professionals (0-3 years). Previous experience in a laboratory or pilot-plant setting is highly preferred.
Technical Mastery: Strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and the ability to apply those to experimental design.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data collection and documentation; you should be the person who notices the "anomalous" data point.
Preferred Attributes
Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment under technical supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills-the ability to explain "what happened in the lab" clearly to project stakeholders.
Experience with analytical equipment and performance evaluation methodologies.
