We're looking for a
senior software engineer with strong systems and development expertise to help design and build security-critical software that runs across Azure's global server fleet. This role is
development-led, with engineers owning their work end to end - from design and implementation through validation and deployment.
You'll work close to hardware, solve complex security and reliability problems, and contribute to software that operates at massive scale across Windows and Linux environments.
What You'll Do
- Design and build production-grade systems software supporting secure server hardware
- Own features end-to-end: requirements, implementation, debugging, and validation
- Develop primarily in C++ (with Python for tooling and automation)
- Work across Windows and Linux environments
- Partner with hardware, firmware, and platform engineers on architecture and design reviews
- Integrate solutions into CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality and long-term maintainability
- Document designs, decisions, and technical tradeoffs
What We're Looking For
Required Experience- 8-10+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong C++ development background (Python a plus)
- Experience building software that interfaces with or supports server or data center hardware
- Proven ability to debug complex, multi-layered systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
Preferred- Experience with Rust
- Open-source contributions
- Systems, infrastructure, or low-level software background
