Summary
Position Summary
The People Tower Program Management Office is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Improvement Project Manager to support the Senior Manager of Process Management in leading and executing enterprise-wide HR and People Operations process improvement initiatives.
This role will oversee a portfolio of strategic and operational projects across Talent Acquisition, Organizational Design & Development, Performance Management, Compensation, Benefits, and HR Operations & Analytics. The selected candidate will drive process re-engineering efforts, lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives, and ensure alignment with standardized business architecture and continuous improvement practices.
This position requires a strong blend of project management, Lean Six Sigma expertise, business process modeling, and stakeholder leadership within a complex organizational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Portfolio Management
Manage and support a portfolio of enterprise-wide HR transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk logs, and status reporting.
Perform cost-benefit analysis and PMO reporting across projects.
Ensure timely execution and delivery of strategic and operational initiatives.
Process Improvement & Lean Leadership
Conduct root-cause analysis, value stream mapping, and statistical analysis to identify process inefficiencies.
Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops with cross-functional stakeholders.
Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve workflow, capacity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Recommend and implement solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Business Process Modeling & Documentation
Develop and maintain detailed process maps using BPMN standards and MS Visio.
Create, update, and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
Review process models and organizational charts for alignment with project requirements.
Facilitate remediation of modeling and documentation issues with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Establish KPIs and benchmarks to measure program effectiveness and continuous improvement outcomes.
Business Architecture & Governance Support
Support HR business architecture functions, including capabilities, processes, controls, and KPIs.
Ensure adherence to standardized work and documentation governance frameworks.
Identify synergies and gaps across processes to drive standardization and optimization.
Required Qualifications
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (required); Black Belt preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Process Modeling and Management, including advanced proficiency in MS Visio.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level process improvement initiatives.
Strong project management experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Proven ability to conduct root-cause analysis and value stream mapping.
Experience leading Kaizen or Continuous Improvement events.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Visio (required)
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Microsoft SharePoint (2010 or higher)
Microsoft Project (2010 or higher)
Familiarity with PeopleSoft HCM and/or Oracle HCM
Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives (preferred)
Knowledge of public mass transit assets and operations (preferred)
