Location: DMV area, – primarily remote with in-person client engagement as needed

Position Summary

The Senior Full Stack Developer builds and ships the web applications that CloudAI's products and customer solutions are delivered through. The role designs and implements user interfaces, APIs, and the services and data behind them, working primarily in React, Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript on Azure and AWS. As a senior engineer, the role leads technical design for the features and services it owns and sets the standard for the developers around it. The developer works within an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC), using AI coding agents and assistants to accelerate requirements, design, code, and test, while owning the judgment, review, and quality of everything that ships. The engineer owns features end to end: the user experience, the API contract, the tests that catch a regression before a user does, and the performance, security, and cost profile of what runs in production. The role brings a product mindset, caring about adoption, usability, and measurable outcomes as much as clean code, and works closely with product, design, data, and AI teams.

Technical Competencies

• React and Next.js at depth, including component architecture, state management, the App Router and server components, and rendering strategy (SSR, SSG, ISR).
• Node.js and TypeScript for back-end development, including REST and GraphQL API design, authentication and authorization, and asynchronous and event-driven patterns.
• Cloud deployment on AWS, Azure, or a similar platform, including hosting and serverless services, containers, identity and access, and infrastructure as code.
• AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) practice, including AI coding agents and assistants, spec-driven development, and rigorous review of AI-generated output.
• Relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query performance, and caching.
• Engineering practice, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels, observability, web accessibility, and performance.
• Preferred: building AI-enabled applications with LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, and vector databases; product analytics and experimentation tooling.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Eight (8) years of professional software development experience building and operating production web applications across front end and back end.
• Demonstrated experience delivering production applications with React, Next.js, and Node.js through full lifecycle.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying and operating production applications on a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including compute and hosting services, networking, identity and access, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrated experience applying an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) or AI-assisted development practices on real delivery work.
• Experience designing and building APIs and integrating with relational and NoSQL databases at production scale.
• Product development experience strongly preferred, including building and evolving a commercial software product (e.g., SaaS or platform) from concept through launch and ongoing iteration.
• Experience integrating LLMs or other AI services into user-facing applications preferred.
• Experience with public sector, SLED (state, local, and education), or higher-education clients preferred, not required.
• Must physically reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is not required.
