Position: IT Infrastructure Project Manager (PMP Certified)
Location: Bay area CA,
Duration: 12
Hybrid (Twise Month)
Our client, a public-sector / municipal organization, runs an annual program that refreshes 200–300 end-of-life desktops and laptops across multiple departments and sites. We are seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery — from planning and procurement coordination through imaging, deployment, data migration, asset management, secure device retirement, and closeout — keeping the program on schedule and on budget while minimizing user disruption. This is a coordination and delivery role
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain the project charter, schedule/WBS, RAID log, communications plan, and change-control and governance processes.
• Validate device standards (images, security baselines, encryption, MDM/SCCM/Intune, AD/Azure AD) and confirm deployment and data-migration approaches.
• Coordinate procurement (specs, ordering, delivery tracking, warranty), staging/imaging QA, and pilot sign-off before full rollout.
• Plan and run deployment waves by site/persona — scheduling, cutover, user communications, and help-desk/deskside support scaling.
• Oversee asset/inventory tracking, secure data sanitization and disposition (e.g., NIST 800-88), risk/issue management, status reporting, hypercare, and operational handoff.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of IT project management, including endpoint/device refresh, hardware deployment, or large-scale rollout/migration programs of comparable scale.
PMP certified project manager with experience in CA public sector is preferred
• Working knowledge of imaging and endpoint management (SCCM/Intune/MDM, AD/Azure AD) and data-migration tools (OneDrive/known-folder move, USMT).
• Strong core PM skills (scheduling, risk/change management, budget tracking, stakeholder communications) and excellent written/verbal communication.
• Preferred: PMP or equivalent; public-sector/regulated-environment experience; familiarity with secure disposition and CMDB/ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
