Description
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the modernization of a 700 MHz communication system for utilities infrastructure. This is a long-term contract position based in Maple Grove, Minnesota, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the future of telecommunications for member cooperatives. The role requires a strong understanding of telecommunications systems, financial management, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the assessment of the current 700 MHz radio system to identify capabilities and areas for improvement.
Research and analyze current and future telecommunications needs to align with organizational goals.
Engage with member cooperatives to understand their use of the 700 MHz network and future requirements.
Evaluate fiber asset usage and potential builds by member cooperatives and third-party providers.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Conduct in-depth technology research and recommend suitable solutions for future system upgrades.
Lead vendor selection processes, including technical evaluations and recommendations.
Manage the installation and commissioning of new radio and network equipment.
Monitor project budgets and ensure financial efficiency throughout the modernization process.
Provide clear communication and coordination across multiple teams to achieve seamless project execution.
Requirements
A minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications, particularly in supporting communication systems for utilities.
Strong knowledge of RF systems, communication networks, and tower infrastructure.
Proven expertise in financial management and budget oversight.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
Proficiency in Product Management methodologies, including Agile Scrum practices.
Familiarity with tools such as Maximo and Spectrum for project management.
Experience in researching and implementing advanced telecommunications technologies.
Ability to manage large-scale projects with budgets exceeding $15 million.
