Mainframe COBOL Developer

Our government client is looking for an experienced Mainframe COBOL Developer on remote 12+ months renewable contract role in Raleigh, NC.

Position: Mainframe COBOL Developer

About the role:
Provide direct technical support for the agency mainframe based legacy tax management system (ITAS).
-The selected candidate will participate in requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance support for the agency mainframe based legacy tax management system (ITAS)
- Will work closely with other support team members to determine the best approach to resolve issues as part of day-to-day support of legacy system. Issue resolution will often require software changes and testing.
- Will work closely with others as a team member in design, development and testing of legislative and operational changes to legacy system.

Required/Desired Experience:

• 10 Years of Experience developing/maintaining mainframe based tax management systems using COBOL including Install/1 system management Required
• 10 Years of Development experience with COBOL, EASYTRIEVE, MVS JCL, CICS, SQL and DB2 in a mainframe environment Required
• 5 Years of Experience in Technical and Functional Requirements documentation Required
• Extensive knowledge of techniques and methodologies relating to software quality assurance and testing through the full systems development lifecycle. Required
• Databases: VSAM, DB2, IMS Required
• Environment: TSO/ISPF, z/OS, MVS, IMS, Windows Required
• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging mainframe application. Required
